Ingrained Nutrition Therapy
with Bethany Thomson, RDN, LDN, CLT
Are you ready to get to the root of your health concerns so that you can live a life of freedom and joy?
As an Integrative Family Nutritionist, I specialize in working with mothers and their families to help them build sustainably wholesome lifestyles.
As a Certified LEAP diet Therapist I have specialized training in treating adverse food reactions/food sensitivities. In other words, I use food as medicine to help my clients get to the root of their health concerns in a fast and effective manner. I work in person and virtually with clients in the southeast.
Family-Centered Approach to Care
Health and healing happens in the context of family and community.
As mothers, we aren’t isolated individuals — our health affects our family members and their health affects ours! We need the support of each other to achieve our health goals.
I take your family and personal community into consideration when we are planning your meals, crafting recipes, talking about food and health budgets, mapping your plan of care, and formulating your health goals!
I provide you with personalized and practical lifestyle support!
(After all, I am a mama, too, so I feel the daily pressures and demands to take care of a family!)
I am genuinely interested in who you are. I want to know what your family is going through right now because that impacts you and your family’s health.
What to expect from me:
- I will listen to you and your needs
- I will help you get to the root of your health concerns
- I will hold your concerns in the strictest confidence
- I will meet you wherever you are in your wellness journey
- I will make recommendations without being pushy or making you feel guilty
- I will help you to achieve lasting health beyond numbers on the scale or food on your plate
- I will encourage you to celebrate success and will help you troubleshoot areas of frustration
I believe in the benefits of whole foods for optimal nutrition. Though one way of eating is not always right for everyone, in general, I emphasize a diet rich in real whole grains (intact whole grains and freshly milled whole grains), abundant in fresh fruits and vegetables, beneficial fats and oils, pastured meats, and cultured foods and beverages.
There is no magic powder, pill, or fitness regimen that will solve your problems for the long term. No supplement can ever take the place of nutritious food and a wholesome lifestyle. We always focus on food first!
That being said, sometimes we do need additional vitamins, minerals, probiotics, or herbal supplements to help us in our journey to healing. If needed, I will recommend the supplements that will best to support you based upon laboratory testing and clinical evidence.
Food fads will come and go, but my message of whole foods for wholesome living will not change!
Food is Medicine… but it could also be Poison!
As an Integrative and Functional Dietitian I believe that “food is medicine“. The Lord uniquely fashioned our bodies to need food… and He created food to nourish, heal, and sustain our bodies!
Unfortunately, our bodies don’t always respond well to food. Sometimes certain foods and food chemicals (even the healthy ones) can even wreak havoc with our immune system. Your superfood could even be making you sick!
In order to optimize our immune health we must focus upon healing and maintaining a healthy gastrointestinal tract.
We turn to food first, before supplements, to do that. We remove the foods and food chemicals that are causing your body to react and we build and restore your health with foods that are calming to your body.
As a food and nutrition expert, I help you discover which food is best to heal your body and which foods may be sabotaging your health.
Health that Lasts a Lifetime
At Ingrained, we believe that rest (physical, emotional, and spiritual rest) is the core element of a sustainably wholesome lifestyle. In other words, we want to help you build real health that lasts!
There is more to health than just food and exercise. We are whole people — body, soul, and spirit.
As we work together, we will talk about food and nutrition, of course, but we will also talk about all aspects of your life and how that impacts your health. We want to help you discover what it takes to build a sustainably wholesome lifestyle.
You and your family will be on your way to lasting health sooner than you think!
